This is a Women Bike event. Read more about our Women Bike program here: Join us at Gladys Bikes for a relaxed basic maintenance class that will help you learn how to keep your bike moving and prolong the life of all the parts on your bike. The main focus of this class will be, flat fixing and cleaning + lubrication, but (as always) we're happy to answer any other questions you have -- wanna know how to adjust your brakes or change your pedals? We'd be happy to help you out with that too. Because Gladys Bikes space is small please RSVP yes only if you are sure you can make it to this event. We will give them a heads up beforehand of roughly how many people will be attending to ensure they have room for everyone. Read the full event description here:

We love local bike shops. They tune up our bikes after long, wet winters. Their staff ride on the same bike routes and trails that we do. They don’t mind if we try on every helmet in the store before making a decision and, for BTA members, they’ll usually knock 10% off the price. The Bicycle Transportation Alliance has teamed up with Base Camp Brewing Company and The Portland Mercury to pay tribute to these local hubs of bike community. Every month, we will have “BTA Shop Beers” at a different local bike shop. Find out what’s new in your community, learn about the BTA, and have a beer with friends old and new. June’s BTA Shop Beers will be at Gladys Bikes in Northeast Portland. Fun facts about Gladys Bikes: - They have the only "saddle library" in the country (as far as they know). - They moved their shop to its current location on Alberta Street BY BIKE! - Gladys is also the home of custom bicycle builder Sweetpea Bicycles.
