Want to learn more about forest issues, ecology and activism? Bark will be hosting its Ecology Club on the second Monday of each month. This time around Gradey from the Arctos School of Herbal and Botanical Studies will be hosting a Crash Course in Plant ID. Come learn some basic skills in learning the flora of the NW; from basic plant anatomy to recognizing plant families, and from plant ecology to a tour of our favorite plant ID books. We will meet at Bark's office space, located at 537 SE Ash, upstairs #206, Portland OR. We will leave the last bit of our time open to further explore the topics of the evening or delve deeper into the work Bark does to protect Mt Hood. We envision the library to be more than a physical space; it is also intangible, represented by Bark volunteers who are knowledgeable and accessible for people interested in learning more about our work, ecology, public lands management and advocacy. Come peruse our newly acquired selection of resources on everything from hiking to climate justice, and learn about what you can do to protect Mt. Hood National Forest! Please call (503)331-0374 or contact michael@bark-out.org if you have questions about this event.
