Join Bikes for Humanity PDX and Water for Good for a charity cycling tour of 7 of the best Portland craft breweries! 100% of the proceeds are split between our two charity partners, Portland-based Bikes For Humanity PDX and international water non-profit Water for Good! We can't think of a better way to spend a Saturday than biking with friends and tasting beer, so why not do it this year in support of a couple of fantastic causes!? This year's breweries include Ex Novo Brewing, Great Notion Brewing, Cascade Brewing, Gigantic Brewing Company, Ecliptic Brewing, Montavilla Brew Works, and Baerlic Brewing Co. - we're super excited about this year's lineup! 6:30-10pm
Thursday, December 18th at 6:30pm is City Repair’s monthly Village Pollinators Night. An event that honors communities for transforming urban space into a common gathering place ultimately creating a healthy, safer and happier neighborhood. Neighbors from 85th and Beech discuss their community's experience ‘repairing’ their intersection with a colorful mural and installing a community garden. The event will be featuring a fifteen minute presentation from Erin Cornell, the 'Village Pollinator," of 85th & Milton & Beech, about her group's Intersection Repair project during last year’s Village Building Convergence. They will be presenting about the history of their neighborhood, how the neighborhood mobilized and transitioned into an urban village through placemaking and the benefits of living in a closer connected community. Mark Lakeman, the founder of City Repair, will be introducing the speaker with a few words of about his experience with 85th & Beech & Milton. After the presentation, audience members interested in hosting a placemaking site will be invited to ask Erin any questions they may have. Placemaking applications will be on hand for folks who are interested in becoming a Village Pollinator themselves! City Repair has been building stronger communities through grassroots led public art and natural building for over 15 years from the Sunnyside Sunflower to the Syracuse intersection in St. John’s. Ex Novo Brewing Company has kindly offered to host us in their upstairs and will be donating a portion of food and drink sales to City Repair. Please invite your friends, family and neighbors to join you. Thank you!
