Your attendance is highly encouraged at the: Historic Landmarks Commission Hearing 1900 SE 4th Ave, Room 2500A Portland, OR December 1st, 1:15pm The subject of this meeting is the Mt Tabor Reservoirs Disconnection and the impact the project will have on the historic nature of the park and it's structures. Each of the reservoirs, associated buildings, and the entire park itself are on the National Register of Historic Places. We all know this park is one of the gems of Portland!! The public is encouraged to testify at the hearing. The reservoirs must remain full to preserve the historic vistas and character of this park. Keeping them full allows for the possibility of reversal in the case of LT2 rule revision. We must demand, at minimum, that a condition of any project approval includes provisions that protect the future of this historic park and water works system. If not attending or otherwise delivering comments in person, comments may be submitted prior to the meeting by FAX or snail mail, not email. Address comments to: Hillary Adam and Stacey Castleberry c/o the Historic Landmarks Commission 1900 SW Fourth Ave., Suite 5000, Portland, OR 97201 or FAX: 503-823-5630 The Mt. Tabor Neighborhood Assoc. has submitted very thorough comments, including an excellent review of relevant reservoir history, as well as numerous requests for specific conditions and oversight, primarily as a means of preserving their integrity, ensuring that the disconnection is reversible and maintaining the water as the primary feature of any future use. You may testify in person or in writing that you support their comments, if you do not feel like crafting your own.
