Oddville: A New Vaudevillian Tradition is a brand-new variety-show style monthly night, taking cues from vaudevillian traditions and narrative comedy, set at Portland’s underground home for the arts The Steep and Thorny Way to Heaven and hosted by Italian performer Stefano Iaboni. The aim of Oddville is to generate genuine emotions through comedy, timing, and unprecedented occurrences, without using the stand-up model of prefabricated verbal jokes. Each month’s showcase features a different line-up of performers, bringing together a wide range of artistic disciplines and focusing on polished short pieces from our thriving clown, circus, vaudevillian, and alternative performance communities right here in Portland. Stefano encourages Portland’s talented performance community to come together for a regular evening of laughter, music, dance, and maybe even a little magic!
