WHEN OUR HUMAN FAMILIES ARE UNDER ATTACK, WHAT DO WE DO? RISE UP! FIGHT BACK! The 2016 Portland May Day Coalition is planning a huge May Day 2016 rally in Downtown Portland that will serve as a vehicle to promote the themes of resistance to capitalism, international solidarity, and respect for workers and oppressed groups within this society and the world. We intend to create a culture of resistance against attacks on workers under capitalism by using May Day as a mass statement against the anti-working family measure. From the Philippines to Libya to the streets of the U.S., people are rising up against injustice. In response to this, the forces of global capitalism and imperialism are working overtime to pit the masses of people on the planet against one another. Racist police murders continue while the victims are painted as criminals and thugs. Families are deported daily and immigrants are dehumanized and labeled as terrorists. Working families find it increasingly impossible to make ends meet in the U.S., while workers around the world are struggling to stay alive. Meanwhile, corporate profits are setting records. All of these inhumane attacks are being bolstered by an organized attempt to bring anti-worker legislation to Oregon in 2016. This same legislation is currently operating in 26 states and there is clear evidence that the things we have worked so hard to eradicate — lower wages, no healthcare, and income disparities adversely impacting women, trans and gender variant folks, and people of color — are all things that are thriving within those states that have passed anti-worker measures. The anti-worker measures are being supported by anti-immigrant measures and anti-reproductive rights measures. All of these heinous acts are being financed by billionaires who don’t even live in Oregon. Clearly, we must commit to working together to stop these attacks against working people. Gather at Shemanski Park at 12:00 PM for celebration, fun, and entertainment. The Rally will begin at 2:00 PM with speakers and musicians addressing the issues mentioned above. The people united will never be defeated! El pueblo unido jamás será vencido! For more information, please contact us at maydayportland@gmail.com.

There is no affordable housing in Portland. There is lack of livable wages. Lack of sustainable job retention and safe work environments. All these factors contribute to the increase of houselessness. What can you do? Help us build a sustainable network of people that will be able to help out our sisters and brothers who are living in the streets. Help to provide. Help to build awareness. Get involve in an organization. Fight to sustain basic human rights for all. We need to come together as a community to build resources that will provide for those in need. “If anyone saves one life, it’s as if they have saved the whole humanity.” What we need: Donations: • Clothing • Gloves • Socks • Shoes • Hats • Undergarment • Tarps • Hygiene products Food: • Fried chicken • Potato salad • Mac & Cheese • Yams • Salad • Fruit • Anything else you want to contribute We need people to help with picking up and storing donations. #nodeaths #portlandwinter #humanityhub #floodthesystem http://www.facebook.com/events/774552959337005/

**THERE IS NO MARCH HAPPENING THIS OCTOBER 2015** MAM PDX SPRING 2016 RALLY planning begins NOW March Against Monsanto #MAM is a global call to action. Our aims: inform the public about facts behind campaigns supporting genetic engineering; examine long-term health risks of genetically engineered foods & pesticides used upon them; demand genetically engineered foods be labeled so we can make informed choices about what we eat & feed our families; demand Monsanto acknowledge their history of WAR CRIMES & make reparations to the Vietnamese as well as US veterans; support campaigns to Divest & Boycott Monsanto (as well as similar companies) because the Time for Change IS NOW. Our Food, Our Choice: We HONOR our Human Right to know what's in our food & to make informed choices about what we feed our families. We HONOR the sacrifice of those poisoned by pesticidal toxins, not the least of whom are those Vietnam veterans who had Agent Orange used against them. We HONOR the Indigenous Fight of populations around the globe who REJECT efforts to destroy heritage seed saving programs & RESIST international pressure to accept genetic engineering as inevitable. We HONOR the river systems & non-human peoples saturated with toxic overload, struggling to survive within an ecology fragmented & fissured through our First World addiction to industrialized agricultural & chemical dominionism. Why We FIGHT AGAINST MONSANTO: • Protect bees, monarchs & other pollinators from pesticides • Protect our water & soil systems • Protect health of those more vulnerable to pesticide residue. • Support local farmers & community gardeners, as well as the cultural heritage & the economic value of farms & food • Honor our agricultural workers and veterans exposed to toxins without consent or recompense • Demand greater oversight & accountability from agencies we employ to safeguard food, health & corporate accountability http://www.facebook.com/events/883968378332574/

March Against Monsanto Returns with 2015 Theme: Food for Justice, the Intersections of Social and Environmental Justice around Food Security May 23rd, Shemanski Park 11:00am Bring your garden tools, straw hats, seed bombs, and vegetable starts. Our food system has been put in jeopardy as it becomes increasingly industrialized, sterile, and designed to benefit the 1%. The dangers of our broken food system are felt disproportionately by communities of color and those in poverty, who have higher rates of malnutrition, cancer, and diseases caused by processed and unsafe foods. This year March Against Monsanto is calling out the whole system. Industrial agriculture pollutes our watersheds, erases the genetic resilience of our food, abuses the rights of workers, and destroys our foodshed ecology. The most basic of human rights, access to safe food, has been replaced with the pursuit of profit. Our government and elected officials accept money from corporations like Monsanto and in turn promote laws that erode our community rights like the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP). Speakers for March Against Monsanto: Food for Justice, will include: Edward Hill, Groundwork Portland Teressa Raiford, Don’t Shoot Portland Adriana Voss-Andrade, 350 PDX Robyn Gottlieb, Oregon Fair Trade Campaign Karen Swift, Biosafety Alliance Ibrahim Mubarak, Right 2 Survive As well as local farmers and musical guests! We are all farmers! We must take the power of self determination back into the hands of our communities through the avenues of direct democracy and direct action. We must pass ballot measures, elect representatives of the people that refuse corporate donations, and physically stop the violence of our present food system. Most importantly, this movement must lift up the marginalized communities that are currently most affected by those who profit off food insecurity. #MarchAgainstMonsantoPDX #FoodJustice Our co-sponsors include GMO Free Oregon, 350 PDX, Oregon Fair Trade Campaign, and Portland Rising Tide. March Against Monsanto is a global call to action aimed at informing the public, calling into question long-term health risks, and demanding genetically engineered foods be labeled so that we can make informed decisions about what we eat and feed our families. Our Food, Our Choice: We have the right to know what's in our food. Last year over 400 cities around the world participated in this day of action bringing hundreds of thousands of people into the streets to March Against Monsanto. We hope to double that this year. Why We March: • Protect bees and monarchs against GMO pesticides that are killing our pollinators. • Protect our food supply and clean water. • Support local farms and farmers. • Protect our environment. • Promote organic solutions. • Expose the cronyism between big business and the government. • Bring accountability to those responsible for the corruption. Free the Seeds: We will promote the new Open Source Seed initiative that keeps seeds in the public domain (opposite of what Monsanto does with seed patents that attempt to control the seed and food supply). The following link is to the march route: https://mapsengine.google.com/map/edit?mid=z4tOGuxjHyZg.kOrvTCoOvCFg If you're not going to be in the Portland area and would like to find an event in your area, just click on this link and find the city you'll be in: http://www.march-against-monsanto.com/p/blog-page_5.html http://www.facebook.com/events/738515949514241/
