This will be the second part of our October Groundtruthing training. We will learn to safely navigate our way through the forest with basic map and compass skills, play detective amongst the trees, and learn to see all the things that make an ecosystem healthy as well as the problems associated with proposed logging. We will also discuss how to document what we see in the forest to create a compelling case to advocate for the area. Prepare to delve into the proposed timber sale’s geography and ecology. We need good photos, good maps, and good people that know that area of forest well enough to show it to others. This training is intended for people interested in becoming actively engaged in this type of in-the-forest work with Bark, and requires no previous experience. We will be in the forest all day, so please bring rain gear, lunch, and good boots. Space is limited to 10 people, so please RSVP with Michael at (503) 331-0374 if you are interested. And if you are able please also attend Groundtruthing 101 on Thursday, October 1st. This is a primer to what we'll do on Saturday.
