Every April as a part of Sexual Assault Awareness Month, there is a Survivor Speak Out that happens as a part of the larger Take Back the Night event. This year the Survivor Speak Out will be held separately from Take Back the Night to ensure there is enough time dedicated to it. It will be held at Green Roots Cafe at PSU (1825 SW Broadway, Rm 26, Portland, Oregon 97201) on Tuesday, April 19th from 6:00 to 9:00 pm. The event is hosted by the PSU Women's Resource Center. The Survivor Speak Out is a dedicated space for survivors of sexual violence to share their stories and be supported by their community. There will be advocates present at the event to provide support for folks who may be triggered or overwhelmed at the event. Please come out and show your support for survivors in your life and community by being present at this event! If you are a survivor, this is an excellent opportunity to let your voice be heard and express how sexual violence has impacted you. Or just come and show solidarity by holding space! This event is free and open to the public, please invite and share widely!!! ✊✊✊✊✊✊

In partnership with Food Action Collective (FAC), StudentsforUnity Psu(SFU) & PSU Student Action Coalition! THE HIGHLY ANTICIPATED PSUSU SOUP SUMMIT: Part community-building soup contest, part movement-building next steps brainstorming session & organizational conversation. Together we'll be discussing PSU President Wiewel's response to the Campus Safety & Fairness Petition, and what the student union's next steps should be. The PSUSU Structural Working Group will also be proposing both a values charter and a framework of organizational principles for the student union. Attendees then will be able to discuss, augment, and ideally approve the proposal for ratification by way of an online ballot. But anyways, aside from all that, THE PRINCIPLE GOAL OF THIS EVENT IS FOR PEOPLE TO HAVE FUN, EAT SOUP, AND REALLY GET TO KNOW ONE ANOTHER.
