Based on the work of Arawana Hayashi, Embodied Presence is a series of practices using everyday movement to explore body mind synchronization and space awareness. From our own body practice, we extend our awareness to experience the collective body and the earth body. The techniques help us remain present and grounded in the body in everyday life, particularly in challenging situations, and for experiencing oneself as part of the collective social body. Slowing down and living fully in the body is a basis for developing healthy habits, cultivating unconditional well-being, opening all the senses, and accessing emotional intelligence and innate creativity. Led by Joyce Rankin. A student of Arawana Hayashi’s since 2006, she was authorized to teach in 2011. Joyce leads a regular practice group in monthly sessions held at the Victoria Shambhala Centre.
