*A three-hour workshop to elevate hope among those who seek to create a sustainable culture* **Presented by Jeanne and Dick Roy** Living in a society where “bad news” seems so prevalent, is authentic hope possible? In this workshop, hope is explored as an intentional act or practice. Through presentations and small-group discussions, we will cover topics such as the meaning of hope and its relationship to optimism (and pessimism), guiding principles for the practice of hope, specific practices that elevate hope in our daily lives, and ways to remain aligned with hope over time. **There is no charge for this workshop, but advance registration is required.** **To reserve your space, contact Monica Moore: 503-227-2315 or firstname.lastname@example.org.** *This workshop is sponsored by the Center for Earth Leadership, a nonprofit co-founded by the Roys that trains and motivates citizens to assume a leadership role in forging a sustainable culture.*

YOU'RE INVITED! Stop by the open house to get updated on the public input received to date, provide feedback on the planning team’s initial recommendations for activating the downtown waterfront, and engage in a dialogue about how the waterfront can become an even better playspace for the Portland region. Representatives from the City of Portland Bureau of Planning and Sustainability will also be on hand to talk about the current Central City 2035/West Quadrant Plan and River Plan/Central Reach planning efforts.
