Health Care for All-Oregon advocates packed the House Health Committee hearing on HB 3260, held April 5 at the State Capitol. HB 3260 orders the Oregon Health Authority to gather necessary information on four options for financing health care in state. The study, financed by philanthropy and foundations, will cost taxpayers nothing. A second bill, sponsored by Rep. Dembrow and Rep. Williamson, and co-sponsored, so far by 19 other representatives and two senators. HB 2922, The Affordable Health Care for All Oregon Plan, would provide comprehensive health care coverage to all individuals residing or working in Oregon. A hearing on this bill, HB 2922, will be held by the House Committee on Health Care on Monday, May 13, at the Capitol Building. More information about the legislation, as well as hearing time and place, can be found at hcao.org. Both bills will be the main topics for discussion at upcoming meetings of the Lincoln City Chapter of HCAO.
