We will meet in the plaza on the Eastbank Esplanade and SE Madison (between the fire station and the Hawthorne Bridge). ______________ This is a time for friends, new and old, to gather peacefully and create a collective moment of reflection for all of those who feel scared, sad, angry about the outcome of the presidential election and want community during this uncertain time. We are not going to back down and we will stand together in solidarity against hate. This event has no program and is open to people of all identities and backgrounds. It is kid-friendly. Come when you can and stay for as long as you can. Please bring your own candle and someone you love. Why do we gather in this way? -We hope this collective action will provide a moment of light, peace, and beauty when so many are feeling overwhelmed by darkness, hate, and ugliness. -We hope the individual action of reflection and commitment will serve to light the way forward for how we will actively resist hate and institutional violence. https://www.facebook.com/events/679716665523884/
