Description

Join OSPIRG and other coalition partners of A Voice For All Portland to get big money out of Portland politics at Aalto Lounge on SE Belmont from 6-8pm on October 20th. Enjoy happy hour drinks and food with us in order to demonstrate your support for restoring local democracy as the Portland City Council considers the Open and Accountable Elections Act. The Open and Accountable Elections Act would help balance our elections by matching small donor contributions to candidates for city office. It’s time to restore our democracy, create space for diversity in our city representation, and empower the everyday Portlanders who are most impacted by the serious issues we face as a city. The Portland City Council could vote on this as early as November, which means we need to raise as much awareness and support for the proposal as possible. Making your voice heard is as easy as showing up to enjoy happy hour food and drinks with us. Hear from speakers about the how the program will work and how it will benefit communities around Portland Learn what more you can do to get involved and help balance our local elections! Meet the people in our community who, like you, want to stand up for democracy.
