OSNA wishes to welcome anyone in the community who has an interest in the field of nursing, medicine, leadership, health, healing or community to attend and benefit from the gathering of knowledge, wisdom, and expertise assembled. Tickets can be purchased via the OSNA website or Eventbrite for a discounted rate or at the door for the full price of $35.00. High school students and their parents may purchase tickets for the deeply discounted rate of $10.oo a piece. All tickets come with a lunch included in the price. Donations will be accepted on behalf of Night Strike, an affiliate of Bridgetown, who gather every Thursday under the Burnside Bridge to give help to Portland’s homeless because people matter. Current needs include: Bulk hot chocolate mix and peanut butter, packed underwear, toothpaste and shampoo, blankets and sleeping bags, hats, scarves, and gloves. This year’s Keynote speaker will be Dana Bjarnason, PhD, RN, NE-BC, the Vice President and Chief Nursing Officer of OHSU School of Nursing. She will speak to us about “Moral Courage.” The Endnote speaker will be Jordan Ferris, BSN, RN, CMSRN, a nursing practice consultant from the Oregon Nurses Association, and rising star in the nursing field, who will speak to us about “Finding Your Voice.” Other topics covered by speakers at the event include: Flight Nursing, Forensic Nursing, Nurses on Boards, Patient Safety/ Policy, Veteran Care, The Need for Nurse Educators, Public Health Nursing, Clinical Nursing Locations, Holistic Nursing, End of Life Care/ Oncology Nursing, Social Innovation, Graduate Nursing Programs, Leadership Opportunities, and multiple NCLEX reviews from Hurst and Kaplan. A professional photographer will be on site to provide professional headshots, and full room will be designated to the advocacy of “Self Care.” This room will be manned by professional massage therapists and others. Opportunities will be available to win valuable prizes including NCLEX reviews, and a $250.00 scholarship from the OSNA. Nursing students may also choose to apply for one of four other $250.00 scholarships in the name of our four biggest sponsors, OHSU, ONA, Airlink, and Kaplan, respectively. firstname.lastname@example.org www.oregonsna.org Oregon Student Nurses Association: OSNA stands for the Oregon Student Nurses Association, and it is comprised of pre-nursing and student nurses from programs all over the great state of Oregon. It is a 501(c)6 non-profit organization. Involvement in OSNA helps prepare students for involvement in professional associations upon graduation, and enjoys a close relationship with the Oregon Nurses Association (ONA). Members of the OSNA are also affiliate members of the National Student Nurses Association, and a student affiliate of the ONA.
