As you may have heard, big changes are afoot here at the Bicycle Transportation Alliance and we want you to be a part of it! Our new mission focuses on advocating for complete streets that ensure everyone can get to where they need to go safely. Residents in every community, regardless of ability and income, deserve the opportunity to walk to school, take transit to medical appointments, and bike to work. Our promise to our members is that our new mission will only bring stronger resources to the bicycling movement that will allow it to grow. We will never give up on bicycling infrastructure when advocating for complete and healthy streets. Instead, we will seek win/win/win design. We want to hear from you! Please join us on for a listening session. BTA staff and board will be available to hear your thoughts on our mission expansion and to answer any questions you have. Celebrate the most refreshing day of the year - International Radler Day - by trekking with Hopworks Urban Brewery on June 22 for the annual Radler Ride. The ride begins at Hopworks BikeBar and stops include The Station and Circa 33. The ride finishes back at BikeBar. Each stop will have special Radlers on tap as well as mixed Radler Cocktails. Radlers include Totally Radler Lemon, Grapefruit, Ginger, and Radlerita. Attendees should bring their bike, helmet, light, and lock. The ride is free and open to the public and riders must purchase their own beverages. Radler (German for "cyclist") has a long history in Germany. The drink traditionally consists of a 50:50 mixture of German Lager and sparkling lemonade and was invented when a large group of cyclists showed up to a pub during a tour in Germany. The bartender didn’t have enough beer to go around so he blended it with lager. This refreshing beverage is now loved by cyclists all across the world.
