A Social Permaculture Class presented by City Repair’s Village Building Convergence team. Would you like your neighborhood to feel like a community? This is the 1st of our new fall series designed both to build skills in y/our community around coming together collaboratively – to create neighborhood cohesion and to build dynamic leadership skills in each of the attendees. This will also be a chance to sign up for the City Repair VBC Placemaking Program and complete sections 2 & 3 of your Placemaking Application for your future VBC neighborhood site. This series is the first steps in becoming a certified Placemaker! This event is free, and we encourage attendees to donate $20 - $8 at the door to help support this work. If you've already signed up for our placemaking program, this workshop is inlcuded in that registration already. ------------ More information on the workshop below: Have you seen our Placemaking Intersections? And other VBC projects around town? All are welcome to attend – whether you plan to be a site lead in your neighborhood or have other plans of engagement – these skills will be invaluable to you. Placemaking is fun interactive public art projects designed to help break down the barriers of isolation so many of us experience in our daily lives – bringing people together right where they live! Telling our collective stories, meeting our needs, creating connections. Come down and join us for the adventure! And learn how to This will be a fun interactive playshop building skills in: Team-Building/Community-building strategies involving outreach, overcoming the barrier of other-ness when meeting your neighbors, setting meeting agendas for community gatherings vs. a “work agenda”, facilitation to really bring forward everyone’s value. In this workshop we will distinguish from what you might experience in the work place or normal life where there are hierarchies - we are working towards bringing everyone’s skills and gifts forward to create a more thriving, vibrant community – starting in your neighborhood. We want you to walk away with some real skills about how to connect with your neighbors in realistic and meaningful ways that begin to unfold your individual stories of who you are, who you are in your community and who you all are in our coming together... so that whatever projects you are working on or are inspired to do we’ll help you help neighbors come together to really dive into the Placemaking Application process The Series: Our Fall Gatherings are designed to Build Skills in the Community. These skills are specifically useful to becoming Site Leaders for the Village Building Convergence’s Placemaking Sites, and are applicable in life in general.
