Chrystos is a poet whose work focuses on native issues, anti colonialism, feminism, and queer issues. She is Menominee, two-spirit, and a lesbian. (Also, Chrystos was nicknamed Boca Caliente by Gloria Anzaldua...which is cool) She has been featured in many poetry anthologies, such as, This Bridge Called My Back, Making Face, Making Soul | Haciendo Caras, and Living The Spirit: A Gay American Indian anthology. She has also published several books of poetry, such as Not Vanishing, Dream On, and Fire Power. Not Vanishing is available here: She'll be reading the second friday of Fall Break in the PAB Atrium! (the big set of stairs in the middle of the PAB) ------------------------------------------------------------ If you're really into this and want to attend a ~WORKSHOP~ with Chrystos, she'll be holding one on Saturday, October 24 from 3:30-5 in PAB 131! It will be pretty free form, and you don't have to bring any previous writing to the workshop. Space is limited for the workshop, so email to let us know if you're interested! There's still plenty of space rn. brought to you by DiversIfY
