Chrystos is a poet whose work focuses on native issues, anti colonialism, feminism, and queer issues. She is Menominee, two-spirit, and a lesbian. (Also, Chrystos was nicknamed Boca Caliente by Gloria Anzaldua...which is cool) She has been featured in many poetry anthologies, such as, This Bridge Called My Back, Making Face, Making Soul | Haciendo Caras, and Living The Spirit: A Gay American Indian anthology. She has also published several books of poetry, such as Not Vanishing, Dream On, and Fire Power. Not Vanishing is available here: https://hamtramckfreeschool.files.wordpress.com/2014/05/chrystos_not-vanishing.pdf She'll be reading the second friday of Fall Break in the PAB Atrium! (the big set of stairs in the middle of the PAB) ------------------------------------------------------------ If you're really into this and want to attend a ~WORKSHOP~ with Chrystos, she'll be holding one on Saturday, October 24 from 3:30-5 in PAB 131! It will be pretty free form, and you don't have to bring any previous writing to the workshop. Space is limited for the workshop, so email mmathis@reed.edu to let us know if you're interested! There's still plenty of space rn. brought to you by DiversIfY
