The Sierra Club Beyond Gas and Oil team are opening up their next meeting for a teach-in on Portland's Fossil Fuel Policy and the status of LNG in Oregon. Please plan to come at 6:00 PM to greet your fellow meeting attendees and get some pizza. The program will begin promptly at 6:30 PM. Portland Fossil Fuel Resolution Implementation Update: Mia Reback (350 PDX) together with Ted Gleichman (Oregon Chapter, Sierra Club BG&O Policy Advisor) will fill us in on the progress being made to implement the City’s Fossil Fuel Resolution passed in November 2015 (Resolution 37168). The Bureau of Planning and Sustainability has issued a Fossil Fuel Terminal Zoning Amendments Proposed Draft which is an improvement over their earlier version, but there is still work to do implement the original intent of the resolution. Join us to learn how you can help our City adopt a zoning code that will help lead us away from the ever increasing use of fossil fuels. To support stronger zoning changes please plan to attend the public hearing to remind the Planning and Sustainability Commission (PSC) that there is broad public support for properly implementing the Fossil Fuel Resolution. A Rally with food and music will precede the hearing. https://www.facebook.com/events/681536048664558/?notif_t=plan_user_joined&notif_id=1472524429464927 LNG Update and Strategy Planning Session: Many people think that the proposed Pacific Connector Pipeline and Jordan Cove LNG Export Terminal projects are dead. Dan Serres (Columbia Riverkeeper) and Ted Gleichman will update us on the status of these projects and lead us through a strategy planning session on how we can completely end these projects. https://www.facebook.com/events/1048557531889159/

It's time to transition Oregon off dirty coal power to clean energy, create good paying jobs, protect our health and climate, and make Oregon a leader in renewable energy innovation. We're excited to announce our first Weekend of Action for our upcoming ballot initiatives! We're taking the fight against climate change and outdated, dirty fuel directly to the voters and we need your help. We will be collecting signatures from Oregonians who want to see more clean energy in our state. The experience begins with a quick training, and then we'll head out in groups to speak with our friends and neighbors. Who wants clean air, healthy communities and good paying jobs in Oregon? - We do!! Sign up and be part of the revolution now! http://www.facebook.com/events/754612294642627/
