In 2012, Homomentum creator Max Voltage dreamed of creating an original musical inspired by the gaymazing glitter-filled awesomeness that was the Homomentum cabaret series. With this vision, Max won a RACC Project Grant to fund the creation of Homomentum the Musical! A year and a half later, we have a complete script, a soundtrack, a fabulous cast of local performers, and we are ready to share it with YOU!! Homomentum the Musical Fri Nov 15th, Sat Nov 16th*, Sun Nov 17th (matinee) 7pm Doors, 7:30pm Curtain (Fri & Sat) 1:30pm Doors, 2pm Curtain (Sun) CoHo Theater, 2257 NW Raleigh St, Portland OR $10-20 Sliding Scale** buy tickets: venue details: more info: The Premise: Imagine a world, where you can have any object you desire, as long as you don’t question the cost of your exponential consumption. This cost is not evenly shared, and runs highest for those working below, the Cogs. Welcome to Metopia, balanced at the brink of class warfare. Enter the Homomentum players, a band of intergalactic performance-artists, who crash-land on this world, and spark a new path, paved in glitter and camp. Will the love of a Homo be enough to change the heart and mind of one young Metopian, who must convince their people to seek change? Will the Cogs find the courage to dismantle the machine? Will magical unicorns come to their rescue? Can art really change the world? Homomentum, the musical! Created by Max Voltage Story & Book by Max Voltage Original Music by Max Voltage, Riley La Roux & Leander Star Directed By Kim Lundin *Sat Nov 16th performance will be Sign Interpreted Photo Credit Ty Chance Funded by the Regional Arts & Culture Council, Brought to you by Pants-Off Productions, creating radical queer pdx art since 2007. Tickets will go on sale at midnight October 1st!! **TICKET PRICING: Sliding Scale helps us to strike a balance between accessibility and making sure our artists and staff members are paid for their work. The amount of time, work, infrastructure and talent needed to create an original piece of musical theater is exponentially higher than for our cabaret series, and therefore our ticket prices must increase to cover our increased costs. The grant money we received will help us with rehearsal & performance space costs, but we are depending on ticket sale revenue to help us pay our staff and performers. I hope many of you are able to pay the $20 full price, to help support this radical queer musical theater project. For those who cannot afford the full price, we are offering a limited number of $10 and $15 tickets. We also have a few volunteer positions available, so if you're interested in volunteering your time in exchange for seeing the show, email for details!
