Throughout the 2016 presidential campaign, Donald Trump told the American people he would release his tax returns and come clean about his business dealings, as presidential candidates and presidents have done for decades. Despite intense public pressure, President Donald Trump has not yet done so. In refusing to release these tax returns, he is able to hide his business dealings, financial ties, and conflicts of interest. Within days of his inauguration, the White House petition calling on Trump to release his tax returns garnered the most signatures on a White House petition, ever. The Trump administration's response? "People don't care." On April 15th, Oregonians from all political backgrounds are taking to the streets of Portland to show that we do care. Thousands of Oregonians will join people all across the country to send a clear message to Donald Trump: The president is accountable to the American people. He must answer to us. With the release of the State Department’s final environmental impact statement, this is a crucial moment to protest Keystone XL. Join us Monday evening to send the message to President Obama that Keystone XL fails his climate test and he must reject it. You are encouraged to bring a candle and a sign!

Hop aboard for a bit of street theatre and song as we walk our way through downtown Portland. We'll view the local sights of the KXL Pipeline's corporate connections. This is theatre! -- and it's educational, too! No need to bring signs. It's not that kind of sight-seeing. It's not even really a bus! Play your part! C'mon down in your favorite tourist duds (camera, binoculars, sandals, maybe a Hawaiian shirt, if you can stand the cold). Join us as we alert the big Pipeline Players, that if needed, some of us will be back real soon with acts of peaceful resistance to the Keystone XL. This event will be a non-arrestable and flashy farce.
