Oregon Physicians For Social Responsibility and partner organizations are planning a memorial event to mark the 70th anniversary of the atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki. The event will feature speakers and performers, including Portland Taiko, and will provide opportunities for attendees to get involved in efforts to abolish nuclear weapons. This event is free and open to the public, and we encourage you to invite your friends, family and colleagues to join us in remembering Hiroshima and Nagasaki and working for a nuclear-free future. Event sponsors include Oregon PSR, American Friends Service Committee, APANO, First Unitarian Church Peace Action Group, Interfaith Council of Greater Portland, Japanese Ancestral Society of Portland, Jubitz Family Foundation War Prevention Initiative, KBOO, Multnomah Meeting of Friends, Oregon Buddhist Society, Oregon Hiroshima Club, Portland JACL, Portland Japanese Garden Society, Tom Dwyer Automotive Service, United Nations Association Portland Chapter, and Veterans for Peace Chapter 72.
