**FREE Shakespeare in the Park** Original Practice Shakespeare Festival is dedicated to bringing a new style of Shakespearean performance to the Portland area by reviving the old. When Shakespeare originally penned and performed his plays, theatrical practices were very different than modern audiences are accustomed to. First Folio editions of Shakespeare's plays include all the cues an actor needs to perform his or her role without rehearsal. This allows the truest reaction to the story as it progresses, and lends a much more immediate, organic and improvisational feel to the performances.Come prepared to cheer, boo, and generally reply (as a group) to what you're seeing onstage - the OPS actors thrive on it! OPS is family-friendly (excluding the late-night shows), local, and FREE! For all performance dates, times, and locations go to opsfest.org. See you there!

We would like to invite you to this month's Rewilding Free Skills Series. The Rewilding Free Skills Series is a class & networking event that happens monthly, that usually occurs (but not always) on the last Saturday of the month. It is a place for social networking where people make new friends and hang out with old friends learning skills to connect us with humanity’s ancestral past and more local and sustainable future. We ask for a $5 – $10 suggested donation with no one turned away. All ages welcome. No dogs please. We will be meeting at Washington Park, at the old "Elephant House." It is a picnic shelter next to the children's playground. It is labeled as a picnic shelter next to the Children's playground on this map. There is a sculpture of Packy the Elephant on the back wall. Here is a map of Washington Park (find the children's playground and you'll see the picnic area to the right of it): http://worldforestry.org/washingtonparkpdx.org/wp-content/uploads/2012/05/map.pdf The park now charges for parking in this area. Parking for the day costs around $6.40. If you are feeling up to it, and don't want to pay for parking, you can park below in NW Portland and hike up to the Elephant house. Please bring: • Parking Fee Money/Credit Card • Water Bottle • Sack Lunch • Snacks • Garden Gloves • Garden Shears/Clippers • Something comfortable to sit on (pillow, chair, etc) • Dress for weather, and for getting dirty • Wear boots or work shoes • Notebook & Pencil • Medical Waiver • Change of clothes/Towels (sometimes pulling ivy can be dirty. This is optional if you don't want to get your car messy) http://www.facebook.com/events/964196033601798/
