Join us in calling on the City of Portland to divest from for-profit prisons! We call on the City of Portland to STOP investing in the for-profit prison industry. Through its investments, the City props up this inhumane industry and profits from the incarceration of immigrants and people of color. Rally and Picket at 1:30pm. Speakers TBA. Portland invests City revenue in some of the largest shareholders of the private prison industry. Through investments with Wells Fargo and others, Portland provides capital for private prison companies to lobby for mass incarceration of communities of color and for inhumane immigration policy.
