Come join Johnson Creek Watershed Council to celebrate Earth Day and World Fish Migration Day by removing invasive species from our watershed. World Fish Migration Day: The World Fish Migration Day is a one day global-local event to create awareness on the importance of open rivers and migratory fish. Connecting Fish, Rivers and People Earth Day: April 22 marks the anniversary of the birth of the modern environmental movement in 1970. Project: Come help us celebrate Earth Day and World Fish Migration Day by removing yellow flag iris, ivy, holly, blackberry, and wisteria from our watershed that supports fish migration. Note: Please wear rubber boots and/or shoes you don’t mind getting wet and muddy. Instruction, tools, gloves, water and coffee/tea provided. The 82nd Avenue of Roses Parade is coming back to SE Portland on April 28th, 2018. The parade starts at Eastport Plaza at 9:30am and proceeds north on 82nd to SE Yamhill Street. ​Carnival Days at Eastport Plaza will will also take place from 10am to 3pm featuring pony rides, carnival rides, live music, clowns, face painting, food, and other fun, family friendly activities. Task: To be announced! No experience necessary! Wear long thick pants, a long-sleeved shirt and sturdy shoes. Bring a water bottle, rain gear, warm clothes and a sunhat. Instruction, tools, gloves, water, coffee/tea and snacks provided. Children welcome, and must be accompanied by an attentive adult.
