Apple Jam Music Festival is a grassroots event in Southern Oregon that has been growing exponentially over the last 8 years. AJMF strives to strengthen the community by bringing together local businesses, artists, and most importantly great music from the PNW and beyond! Apple Jam is the best, and most affordable, 3-day music festival in the area. With high caliber musical entertainment, free camping, amazing food & craft vendors, and a breathtaking landscape surrounding the site, it truly provides an enjoyable experience for all. This year the expected turn-out is 5,000 people. AJMF also partners with a local nonprofit (ACCESS Food Share) that focuses on providing food for families in need.

Summer’s almost upon us again, which means that your favorite neighborhood ciclovia is right around the corner! City of Portland Sunday Parkways, presented by Kaiser Permanente, is a series of five community events that promote healthy living by opening the city's largest public space - its streets - for people to walk, bike, roll, and discover active transportation! Besides all the active outdoor fun, the events strive to foster civic pride, stimulate economic development, and represent the investments that communities, businesses and government bodies are making in Portland's vitality, livability, and diversity. Last year over 100,000 people attended the events, with 250+ volunteers making it all possible. The first event of the season is coming up in Southeast Portland on May 21st, and we need your help to make it a success! Here’s how we need your help... • Mobile Superheroes to ride the route on your bike, keeping a watchful eye on the neighborhood and backing up the Intersection Superheroes. • Intersection Superheroes to command the barricades, making sure participants are safe from cars and neighbors are happy. Each shift lasts no longer than 3.5 hours, but you may sign up for more than one! ...and here’s how we show our appreciation! Every Sunday Parkways volunteer receives: • an HEATHER PURPLE Sunday Parkways volunteer t-shirt • refreshments before your shift • support before, during and after the event • a 2017 Sunday Parkways bandanna - volunteer for any three Sunday Parkways shifts across the season and it's yours! FOR MORE INFO AND TO SIGN UP: https://www.portlandoregon.gov/transportation/67621 Are you interested in helping with Sunday Parkways but May 21st doesn't work for your schedule? Volunteer for one of the other Sunday Parkways events on: • 6/25/2017 in North Portland • 7/23/2017 in Northeast Portland • 8/20/2017 in Outer Northeast • 9/24/2017 in Sellwood/ Milwaukie More information on these upcoming events can be found here: https://www.portlandoregon.gov/transportation/58929 See you in Southeast Portland! On June 14th, we will come together for Voz’s 2017 Annual Dinner celebrating the lives of the diverse day laborers and immigrants who find employment through the MLK Jr. Workers Center and raising our voice in opposition to the many threats facing our community at this time. The event, which attracted over 250 supporters last year, is hosted by Voz staff, board, and volunteers, and attendees come from ally organizations, church groups, and the large community of individuals supporting Voz’s work. The dinner is catered by ¿Por Que No?, with live music, incredible raffle prizes, and a short program with community speakers sharing our recent successes and current efforts working with day laborers and immigrants in the Portland community. With this year’s goal of $30,000 we hope to continue our efforts to unite and support one of the most vital groups of Portland, day laborers.
