Mark Roche, professor of German and Philosophy at the University of Notre Dame, will present "What's So Funny About A Joke?" as the annual Hesburgh Lecture at the University of Portland. Roche interlaces humor with an analysis of the greatness and limitations of Sigmund Freud's theory of jokes. This free lecture is a collaboration by the Garaventa Center, the Notre Dame Club of Portland, and the Beckman Humor Project.
