University of Portland Singers Concert

After thirty years, Dr. Michael Connolly, Professor of Music, is set to direct his final concert at the University of Portland. The University Singers will be performing some of Connolly's favorite pieces from his time at UP in Buckley Center Auditorium at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, April 21.

About Dr. Michael Connolly

Connolly has been at UP since 1988 after receiving his Bachelor's degrees in voice and music education from the University of Washington and his Master of Music and Doctor of Musical Arts in Choral Music from the University of Southern California. He is a talented composer and musician and has published the well-known guidebook, The Parish Cantor among other publications. When he first arrived on campus, he was a visiting assistant professor, but soon became a full-time faculty member.

About the University Singers

The University Singers are the auditioned mixed choir at the University of Portland. The group performs 2-3 times per semester, singing music in a variety of styles including classical and popular as well as secular and sacred.
