Sunday Parkways - Sellwood/ Milwaukie - Volunteers Needed!
As summer begins to wind down, so does another season of Portland Sunday Parkways. Come join us for our final 2017 event in the Sellwood/ Milwaukie area on Sunday, September 24th.
City of Portland Sunday Parkways, presented by Kaiser Permanente, is a series of five community events that promote healthy living by opening the city's largest public space - its streets - for people to walk, bike, roll, and discover active transportation! Besides all the active outdoor fun, the events strive to foster civic pride, stimulate economic development, and represent the investments that communities, businesses and government bodies are making in Portland's vitality, livability, and diversity.
Last year over 100,000 people attended the events, with 250+ volunteers making it all possible. The final event of the season is coming up in Sellwood/ Milwaukie on September 24th, and we need your help to make it a success!
Here’s how we need your help... Mobile Superheroes to ride the route on your bike, keeping a watchful eye on the neighborhood and backing up the Intersection Superheroes.
Intersection Superheroes to command the barricades, making sure participants are safe from cars and neighbors are happy.
Each shift lasts no longer than 3.5 hours, but you may sign up for more than one!
Every Sunday Parkways volunteer receives: an HEATHER PURPLE Sunday Parkways volunteer t-shirt refreshments before your shift support before, during and after the event a 2017 Sunday Parkways bandanna - volunteer for any three Sunday Parkways shifts across the season and it's yours!
