Melissa Bangs makes Portland her last weekend of performances in a nine-city West Coast Tour. She brings with her three performances of a hilarious & heart-wrenching nonfiction storytelling based on her own experience with postpartum psychosis.

In September 2012, at 40 years old, Bangs gave birth to her beautiful daughter, Adelaide. One month later, profoundly sleep deprived, Bangs was admitted to the Providence Psychological Inpatient Unit.

What came next was an extraordinary journey, one she has transformed into a non-fiction storytelling experience that is both wildly funny and terribly tragic.

The most common bit of feedback she has heard was, “I was laughing or crying the entire time.” She has also heard, again and again, “You have to keep telling this story. You are saving lives.” And so she is.

“If you are human, this story is for you.” -Melissa Bangs
